Living with an Electric Car

Electric cars have been around for 100 years, but they are still in their infancy when it comes to replacing the internal combustion engine on the roads. The current crop are small and limited in range and speed. Roger Imes, who owns a natural foods store with his wife Chris, doesn't care about those things. "The limitations of the car didn't bother me because I felt that our lives fit within those limitations," he said. His car goes 35 mph, travels about 20 miles on a charge and seats two people. He believes that he is helping the environment and not contributing to the world's struggle to find and extract oil from war-torn places.
