Here is another “Then and Now” presentation taken from the photo archives of the Spokesman-Review. Spokane, especially the downtown area, has a long and storied history of boom and bust, notable characters and as a hub of life in the Inland Northwest. Here are some photos ranging from 1889 through 1970, each updated with a modern digital camera image.

Love those old pictures of Spokane. Interesting to see how so much has changed, yet also nice to see how much we have kept our history in tact in Spokane also.

If only we saved the grand Train Station and today had the ability to connect Lightrail down to it. Build the park around instead of destroying it all but the clock tower.

What an awesome video. How great to remember how it was and now is. You did a great job on putting it together.

These “Then and Now ” studies are superb! Jesse and Blair are to be appaulded! History is always sold short and the architecture in Spokane is not to be overlooked! The house study was a delightful romp down memory lane and I loved the shot of the folks gathered on the steps and then the same shot with the steps empy…that feeling of who lived there , and the fingerprints left, I loved it all! Great work! Keep it up! This paper has tremendous talent!
