What’s with the sound-track? Is this news or a documentary?
soccermomsusie on September 28 at 11:27 a.m.
The apocalyptic soundtrack really captures the feel of these brainwashed zombies let loose in Spokane. Yes, Bill Gates did build the Socialist Robot Kenyan President - Obamatron, but Steve Jobs is responsible for making these elitist leftist brain eaters.
I wonder if any of these people (obviously without work living on welfare) picked up a job apple-lication while they were there.
Thanks Spokesman-Review for getting it right. All the other media outlets portrayed this as a happy occasion. “Good for the city. Puts Spokane on the map. Stimulates the Obamaconomy. BLAH BLAH BLAH.” You were the only ones who showed this for the sad, scary event that it truly was. YUCK! THEY WALK AMONG US!!

Great job getting the feel of an Apple store opening Colin! Sadly I missed this one due to work, I have been to a few around the world and the mood Apple tries for them Colin captured with his lens. Many striaght up 90 to 120 seconds 6 PM news clips miss that mood when I have them for store opening I have been to in other cities.
As an ex-MSFTer I can make my fair round of Apple fanboy jokes. For the record I am typing this on Windows 7 running on a Mac. So I am either Switzerland or the Devil. In the end, both systems have their pluses and their minuses.
Since politics entered this; America is about choice and pluralism of thought. I like the sound track Colin picked, it is your given right not to. Same is true with the style of the video shooting. Freedom of thought is the American way.
In the Apple world, you have Rush Limbaugh, a big time Apple fan boy, even though I bet Jobs and he don’t see many political things eye to eye. Heck back in 2008 Rush even got Apple to fix bugs he pointed out in OSX 10.5 on his show.
In the tech world, you have the left leaning Pierre Omidyar hiring the right leaning Meg Whitman to lead the company he foudned, e-Bay. Togehter they grew an new economy and created wealth and jobs for many.
While I don’t think an Apple store puts Spokane on the map. It has been on every map I have used since I was a little boy. I am always happy to see jobs come to Spokane and see happy people in Spokane. Yes, even Apple fansboys and girls! It is nice to see downtown look more alive. Plus this store may bring more national retailers into downtown area and Spokane. More jobs is a good thing.
This store is a test for Apple, they are running out of big cities areas to expand to or in. Spokane has been a test market for many products over the years. If Apple can make a success in Spokane, it will show the market it can grow its business in the heartland, not just the big cities. Apple will need to, as another Steve is famous for saying, “delight” the Spokane customer.
Again great job Colin!

Doug, enough of your liberal gobbledeegook. I know exactly where you stand when you said that one of today’s prophets - Rush Limbaugh had bugs. That was really mean and uncalled for.
The Apple Symbol is a continual reminder of man’s fall from grace and Original Sin. I think Colin captured that well, as well.

Soccermomsusie, should I put you down as one vote for me being the Devil? Well at least it wasn’t tech gobbledeegook.
Hey a couple of those bugs Rush found back in 2008 were good catches. I would him hiring him for a tester. Then again I doubt he would take the needed pay cut.

While I’m happy that Apple chose to put a store in Spokane….I’ll still look for better deals online or shop a locally owned store that specializes in apple products.
Plus, I have no need for the apple genius bar as my apples have never broken, been infected or crashed.
But I still will visit to drool over the newest gadgets.

Big SR fan..But I find the editing on this bizarre and distracting.

Knowing reality, not the fantasy apple-nuts put out, I recently got an Android phone. My friends with iphones are way jealous. It is just as good if not better than an iphone, but i’m not stuck with AT&T! I’m also not stuck with crap-ware like itunes.
I’m all for the jobs this brings in, but, don’t be fooled by the hype. PC’s and non-apple phones allow choice and REAL innovation, not the monopoly Apple forces on you.
Itsgodswill on September 29 at 1:03 p.m.
Apple has its upsides and its downsides, there is no doubt about that. But what it ultimately comes down to is personal preference. Apple offers immaculate looking machines with pretty incredible capabilities. Unfortunately, PC’s offer the same incredible capabilities at half (or less) the price but they’re half as “pretty”. Apple did do it right with the iPod, though. No mp3 player can touch the iPod. No, not even the zune.
