Steve is a many talented guy and has been active in Spokane culture for many years. Few people know that he was one the folks responsible for the Rites of Summer in 1969, Spokane’s only real rock festival. He had it on his mom’s property out on Assembly. It was a time of change for many of us kids back then and Steve provided a venue for us to rock out to our favorite local bands. It was an event that changed my life and I thank Steve for that opportunity.
It is nice to see Steve getting some strokes as he has been a very talented, behind-the-scenes mover and shaker for years.

You’re right. Steve is quite the guy. I hadn’t heard about the Rites of Summer….
