Spokane Mayor Mary Verner, a good sport to try something new, braved the stares of downtown crowds and sings a song with S-R columnist Doug Clark during Street Music Week Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in front of the Starbuck’s on Main. She chose a song made popular by Steve Winwood and was backed up by her son, Daniel Moore, on drums. The annual weeklong event brings musicians and other performers downtown to gather donations for Second Harvest Food Bank.
