Outdoor adventurers should always go into a trip with alternatives for the unexpected. "You need a Plan A, and a Plan B - and the right attitude for both options," says Spokesman-Review outdoors editor Rich Landers. A nine-day February sea kayaking expedition to Mexico's Baja California gives him a chance to show how a group can have the trip of a lifetime, even in a bout of foul weather. The week he spent in the Sea of Cortez was a pleasant reminder: "Outdoor adventure is unpredictable," he said. "That's why we like it."
