Big R/C car weekend

For the last 28 years, R/C car enthusiasts have gathered on Memorial Day weekend for the Hank Perry 240. It’s three days of camaraderie and off-road competition at the Hank Perry Raceway at Sullivan Park in Spokane Valley. Hobbyists spend thousands on high-end cars, gas and electric motors, tires and parts to build the best cars they can, then test their skills against the best in the Northwest and Canada. It’s part of the six-race Northwest Championship Tour. Friday was a practice day, Saturday will be the qualifying rounds and Sunday will be the finals. Visitors are welcome and the RC Car Club of Spokane, which puts on the race and maintains the race track, is always looking for new members.
