Headstone for a forgotten veteran
Malbert Cooper of Spokane served six years in the U.S. Army, beginning in 1910. When he died in 1979, he had no one to make sure he was recognized as a military veteran. Only recently did Veterans Services officer Nadel Barrett complete the paperwork to get a modest headstone at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Produced by reporter Kip Hill.
