Whitney channels ’70s fuzzy and sweet vibe
“Light Upon the Lake,” the debut LP by Chicago-based pop duo Whitney, sounds like it was beamed straight out of 1977, fuzzy and sweet and a bit blown out. You can almost picture the songs blaring from the speakers of a portable radio on a sun-dappled August afternoon.
