Historic Cowley Organ
An antique pump organ resides in a nook in the upper floors of the historic Review Tower on the corner of Monroe St. and Riverside Ave. The organ, a beloved heirloom of the Cowles family, once belonged to the family of H.T. Cowley, a pioneer missionary who founded the first Congregationalist church. Current Westminster Congregationalist Church of Christ church musician Janet Hubbard, who has been at the church for six years, demonstrated the organ, which is operated by pumping bellows with the feet while playing the keyboard.
