Kraziness in the Kennel 2017

Kraziness in the Kennel took place Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. The event featured player and coaching staff introductions, a skills competition, three-point contest and dunk contest. The Red-Blue scrimmage concluded the action.

Moments before the Gonzaga basketball team put its finishing touches on hits historic 77-73 win over South Carolina on Saturday, a sea of young faces and flailing arms jumped to the Zags’ trademark tune. “WE ARE GU” they screamed as the floor of the John J. Hemmingson Center shook.

Old-school beard snaps

“S/o to @Snapchat for releasing my official filter for the #FinalFour,” Przemek Karnowski tweeted Thursday, after the social media app released a sparkly, pink beard similar in shape and size to Karnowski’s (although the app didn’t officially release the name of the filter). While The Spokesman-Review could have used the filter to shoot photos across town, we decided to do it the old-fashioned way. We bought red-tinted beards of our own, and asked city leaders and fans to sport them. Here’s the end result. Take that, Snapchat.

A small crowd gathered outside the McCarthey Athletic Center to send of the Gonzaga men's basketball team as they left for Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon.
