Catch Oscar Best Picture nominees on Saturday

Dan Webster

Then comes word that the Magic Lantern will NOT be opening the Oscar-nominated shorts programs this coming Friday. That's the bad news.

The good news? AMC River Park Square will be opening its Best Picture Showcase, which on Saturday will include three Oscar nominees for Best Picture.

Saturday's screenings will feature: noon, "Ford v Ferrari," 2:55 p.m. "Joker," 5:20 p.m. "Little Woman."

According to AMC, "The screenings are split into two consecutive Saturdays, so you can choose to attend one day or both days." The second Saturday's screening times have yet to be announced.

The Magic Lantern, meanwhile, will pick up second runs of the drama "Just Mercy" and the anime "Weathering With You."
