Dan Schmidt, D-Moscow, filed for re-election, defending his seat against a challenge from his predecessor Gary Schroeder's son Barrett; and the first official race between two incumbents is on: Sens. Bert Brackett, R-Rogerson, and Tim Corder, R-Mountain Home, will face off in the new District 23.
