Idaho gas prices inch below $3 a gallon for first time in nearly four years
Idaho’s average gas prices have dropped below $3 a gallon for the first time since Feb. 8, 2011, the AAA of Idaho reports. The motorists’ group is calling the drop a “seasonal gift at the pump” for motorists. AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report had Idaho’s average gas price today at $2.987 a gallon, down nine cents from a week ago. “It has taken Idaho longer to get where most of the rest of the country has been for some time, but drivers are happy to see lower prices at the pump,” said AAA spokesman Dave Carlson.
The national average today is $2.77 a gallon. “It has taken Idaho longer to get where most of the rest of the country has been for some time, but drivers are happy to see lower prices at the pump,” said AAA Idaho spokesman Dave Carlson.
According to AAA, today’s average U.S. price is $2.77. Idaho’s nine-cent drop over the past week was the biggest drop in the country, but the state still has the 9th highest average gas prices in the nation. The lowest: $2.47 in Missouri.
