Senate names conference committee appointees, adjourns for the night

The Senate has reconvened – at nearly 7 p.m. – and named its three appointees to the conference committee on HB 312a, the transportation funding bill. Senate Transportation Chairman Bert Brackett, R-Rogerson, is the Senate chair. The other two appointees are Sens. Dean Cameron, R-Rupert, and Roy Lacey, D-Pocatello.

Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis, R-Idaho Falls, said the three have a big task ahead of them. “These are good and decent people who will represent our body well,” he said. “We hope for a quick … resolution and a successful resolution.” The Senate then adjourned until 11 a.m. tomorrow, which Davis said “should be more than enough time for them to complete their work tomorrow.” The House goes back in tomorrow morning at 10.
