House panel, on 9-8 vote, kills child support enforcement bill; could endanger adjournment

A narrow House committee vote to kill a child support enforcement bill this afternoon could keep Idaho lawmakers from adjourning their session today; joint leadership is in a meeting about the issue now. House Judiciary Chairman Rich Wills, on his way to the meeting, said, "I don't think anybody has a clue to how dangerous this is going to be." Melissa Davlin of Idaho Public Television's "Idaho Reports" has two posts on it at her blog here.
