Lawmakers examining multiple bills to change state purchasing laws

The Legislature’s interim committee on purchasing laws is meeting at the Capitol today to review draft legislation; you can listen live here. There’s quite a bit of it; there are proposed bills on contract oversight; delegation of authority; ethics in procurement; multiple contract awards; open contracts; procurement training; and a measure to reauthorize the committee to continue its work next year. Co-Chair Sen. Fred Martin, R-Boise, said the panel’s received a lot of information over the course of its meetings; now it’s time to decide what to do with it.
