Otter names one new state parks board member, calls for applications for another
Idaho Gov. Butch Otter has named one new member to the state parks board, Gordon Hansen of Burley, and is accepting applications for another. Hansen, who owns and operates Idaho Water Sports in Burley and Nampa, replaces Charles Correll as the District 4 representative; Correll resigned from the board in January. The second vacancy is for southwest Idaho’s District 3, which includes Ada, Canyon, Adams, Valley, Washington, Payette, Gem, Boise, Elmore and Owyhee counties; former member Susan Buxton of Boise stepped down from the board in March when Otter appointed her the state’s new Division of Human Resources director.
The Idaho Parks and Recreation Board appoints and supervises the state parks director, and provides citizens oversight for Idaho’s state park system, along with trails, snowmobiling and boating programs. Members serve six-year terms.
For more information, contact Ann Beebe in the governor’s office, 334-2100, or email her here. Applications are due by May 6.
