Idaho GOP slams Dems for objecting to state-funded billboards touting presidential primary

The Idaho Republican Party is slamming the Idaho Democratic Party for its complaint about the 22 billboards posted around the state by the Idaho Secretary of State’s office advertising the March 8 presidential primary election, but not mentioning that it’s only for the Republican and Constitution parties; Idaho Democrats will caucus on March 22 to make their presidential nominee selection.

"The Democrats’ complaint is invalid, untruthful, and nothing more than a shallow attempt to mislead voters and advertise their caucus, an event that very few know about and even fewer will participate in,” Idaho GOP Chairman Steve Yates said in a statement. “If they were serious about their complaint, serious about wanting a clear process for voters, or serious about being inclusive they would have joined the other political parties and switched to the presidential primary. They didn't. Now it's time for them to stop complaining about their decision and own it."

The Republicans’ press release on Yates’ statement was headlined, “Idaho Democrats Cry About Buyer's Remorse.”
