House, Senate resources panels bring in Utah speakers to talk fed lands transfer

Idaho’s House and Senate resources committees are holding a joint “informational meeting” today in the Lincoln Auditorium, to hear speakers from Utah, including two Utah lawmakers, talk about their efforts to take over federal public lands. You can watch live here.

“I don’t believe there’s been any federal land turned over to the states yet, but … there’s been a lot of discussion about it,” said House Resources Chairman Dell Raybould, R-Rexburg. “We decided it’d be good to have an informational meeting today … listen to the work they’ve done in Utah and where they’re at on this.”

The Lincoln Auditorium is packed; Raybound said an overflow room will be set up with an audio feed. Many in the audience are wearing stickers that say, “Keep your hands off our public lands!”
