Otter on PAC, session length, lawsuits…

Here are some more topics Gov. Butch Otter addressed at this morning’s AP Legislative Preview:

OTTER PAC: “I have had tremendous support from folks in the Legislature, at the local level, at the county precinct level. My effort is to help those folks in operations within the party, help those folks stay in the Legislature. … How is that different from any other PAC?

SESSION LENGTH: “We’re all hopeful of a short session. In fact I’m holding the speaker to 65 days, he may have mentioned that off column, but he did mention it. So I like it. I think that would come out to St. Patricks day or pretty close. I’m hoping for a very productive and short session as well.”

SAGE GROUSE: “To say that I expressed frustration is akin to saying that King Kong is just another monkey. … Yeah, I’m frustrated.” He said, “We’re staying at the table,” in hopes of implementing Idaho’s sage grouse conservation plan.

CBD OIL: “I’m going to always be cautious about the legal introduction of those kinds of substances in our society.”

LAWSUITS: Otter said he’ll ask lawmakers to replenish the state’s constitutional defense fund, which covers lawsuit costs. “Do I have regrets over losing ‘em? Every one that I lost,” he said. “Do I have regrets over engaging in ‘em? No.”
