Otter appoints Boisean to state parks board, calls for applicants for N.Idaho seat

Gov. Butch Otter has appointed Michael Boren of Boise, chairman of Clearwater Analytics, to the Idaho Parks & Recreation Board; Otter also is calling for applicants for another vacancy on the board representing North Idaho.

Boren replaces Susan Buxton, who stepped down in January when Otter appointed her head of the state Division of Human Resources. “Mike’s enthusiasm for state parks and outdoor recreation, along with his business experience, will be an excellent addition to the board,” Otter said in a statement.

The other opening is for the seat held by Tom Crimmins, a retired forester and trails consultant from Hayden Lake, whose term expired July 1. Applicants must be residents of North Idaho from Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah or Shoshone counties, and applications are due by July 29.
