This is an early and unpleasant reminder of what summer can bring in Boise: After a 101-degree day, still-warm temperatures and lightning overnight, Boise’s skies filled with smoke this morning. According to KBOI2 News, fireworks were the cause of a 1,500-acre wildfire near Table Rock that destroyed one home, and still was burning this morning. The family escaped from the burning home about a half-hour after midnight; no injuries were reported, but people are being asked to avoid the area, which is near Table Rock Road at Alto Via and Warm Springs Avenue; the home that burned was on Pheasant Lane. At last report, no further homes were threatened; you can see KBOI2’s full report here.
