Moyle says he wants to amend Clow’s ‘nexus’ bill to add in income tax cut

House Majority Leader Mike Moyle, R-Star, told Rep. Lance Clow, R-Twin Falls, this morning, “I understand what you’re trying to accomplish here and I support what you’re trying to accomplish here. … But I also think if we’re going to raise taxes on one side, we oughta give it back on the other.” Moyle said he’d like to amend Clow’s “nexus” bill on sales taxes to add into it the tax-cut bill that the House earlier passed and sent to the Senate, which hasn’t gotten a Senate hearing. “I see an opportunity here to provide the revenue necessary to do a tax cut,” Moyle said. “So just a heads-up, I may be supportive of amending this bill. … Because I firmly believe this is going to generate upwards of $20 million.”

Moyle’s earlier bill would cut corporate and individual income tax rates and raise the grocery tax credit.
