STEM Education Fund gets $2M

The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee has approved a $2 million transfer to the new STEM Education Fund for projects of the STEM Action Center next year; Gov. Butch Otter had recommended $10 million, but with just $2 million in spending authority for next year. The money is in addition to the $2 million already approved for the STEM Action Center in its budget, which was set last week; that matched the governor’s recommendation.

The vote was unanimous, 20-0.
