House passes HB 650, adjourns ‘til tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The House has voted 40-29 in favor of HB 650, the trailer funding bill for the health care grant program. Rep. Brent Crane, R-Nampa, asked what would happen if it failed. The response from Rep. Luke Malek, R-Coeur d’Alene: It would remove funding from the $5 million grant program in HB 644.

After that, the House adjourned until 10 a.m. tomorrow. As House members began millling around after adjournment, House GOP Caucus Chair John VanderWoude, R-Meridian, advised members to use the boxes stacked in the hall and start packing up. "We will sine die tomorrow," he said, to a few disbelieving catcalls.
