House wraps up business, prepares to adjourn

After passing the urban renewal bill as amended, the House is now preparing to adjourn sine die. Members have honored retiring Rep. Linden Bateman, R-Idaho Falls, who is ill and not here today, with both a poem and presentation of the flag that flew over the chamber.

The poem, written by fellow representatives and read by Rep. Neil Anderson, R-Blackfoot, included the line: “No other Idahoan could love Idaho more.”

Members also gave ovations to retiring longtime Reps. Ken Andrus, R-Lava Hot Springs, and Donna Pence, D-Gooding, and other outgoing lawmakers.
