Otter signs bill banning local plastic bag bans, without comment
Gov. Butch Otter has signed into law SB 372, the bill forbidding local governments from regulating or taxing plastic bags or other containers. Otter signed the bill without comment; it’s among a long list of bill-signings delivered to the House this morning. You can see the full list here; scroll down.
Also signed without comment: HB 524, animal cruelty legislation regarding “companion animals;” HB 495, expunging first-time minor-in-possession or minor-in-consumption offenses for those who don’t reoffend; and HB 512, establishing trustee zones for community college elections.
Otter held a formal bill-signing ceremony yesterday for HB 504, legislation that’s been years in the works to reform Idaho’s public defense system.
