Tonight’s “Idaho Reports” on Idaho Public Television will feature the 2nd District congressional race, in which nine-term GOP Rep. Mike Simpson faces a low-key challenge from Democrat Jennifer Martinez, who is making her first run for office. Simpson and Martinez will be interviewed separately by co-host Melissa Davlin on tonight’s program; then, Davlin will be joined by BSU professor emeritus Jim Weatherby and myself for analysis in a “Web Extra” discussion online, which will cover not only the 2nd District race, but also a wide-ranging discussion of Idaho politics and the developments of this final week before the election.

“Idaho Reports” airs at 8 tonight on Idaho Public Television; after it airs, you can watch it here online any time, along with the Web Extra discussion. It also re-airs Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Mountain time, 9:30 Pacific.
