State Treasurer Ron Crane mum on oversight panel that doesn’t meet, late report
Here’s a link to my full story at spokesman.com on how Idaho state Treasurer Ron Crane isn’t saying why a state committee he chairs that’s charged with enhancing Idaho’s state credit rating hasn’t met in six years, and this year, when its annual report for the first time showed a problem – a Securities Exchange Commission violation – Crane’s office delayed posting the report online for four months.
Crane repeatedly declined to comment on the matter. For the entire week before Thanksgiving, his office said he was at an out-of-state conference and couldn’t be reached, even by phone. During Thanksgiving week, his office said he was in, but had decided not to grant an interview or issue any comment.
Crane chairs the state Credit Rating Enhancement Committee, which hasn’t met since April of 2010.
