House Majority Caucus opts for no change in leadership team

The House Republican Caucus has re-elected its same leadership team, with two of its members turning back challenges. Speaker Scott Bedke, R-Oakley, was re-elected; as were Majority Leader Mike Moyle, R-Star; Assistant Majority Leader Brent Crane, R-Nampa; and Majority Caucus Chairman John VanderWoude, R-Nampa.

Crane had faced a challenge from Rep. Tom Loertscher, R-Iona; while VanderWoude faced a challenge from Rep. Greg Chaney, R-Caldwell.

That wraps up tonight’s news from legislative party caucuses. Tomorrow at 9 a.m., the Idaho Legislature will convene for its organizational session, including committee assignments, decisions on committee chairmanships, seat selection and the other organizational matters that’ll set the group up for the start of its regular legislative session on Jan. 9.
