Little: ‘Obamacare continues to wreak havoc on Idahoans’

Idaho Lt. Gov. Brad Little issued this statement today on the proposed premium rate increases for Idaho insurers that was announced today by the state Department of Insurance:

“Obamacare continues to wreak havoc on Idahoans and another year of increased premiums confirms this reality.  Prior to the failed Obamacare policies, Idahoans had some of the most affordable health care in the country – and we need to get back to that position.

“Last week, Congress had the opportunity to tackle health care reform that lowers costs for individuals, families, and businesses. They failed and the outlook at the federal level looks uncertain.  But Idahoans cannot wait.  Absent a federal solution, Idaho leaders must work on behalf of our citizens to relieve these burdens which continue to be a strain on our household budgets and diminish our state’s economic competitiveness."
