Wasden names Early to head resources division; Strong praises the choice

Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has named Darrell Early division chief of his office’s Natural Resources Division, replacing longtime Division Chief Clive Strong, who retired last week. Early has been with the Attorney General’s office since 1999, when he started as a deputy attorney general in the Natural Resources Division. He’s represented the state on such issues as hazardous waste and mining and the Idaho National Laboratory.

Early holds a law degree from the University of Idaho and earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University in 1989.

“After working with Darrell for seventeen years, I know him to be a highly skilled attorney who has a deep appreciation for Idaho's natural resources and its people,” Strong said in a statement. “Idaho is fortunate to have Darrell as the Chief of the Natural Resources Division.”

Wasden said Early “possesses an excellent legal mind” and is “very well-versed in the matters of natural resource law.”
