EORAC adopts the governor’s revenue projection

Sen. Steve Bair, R-Blackfoot, moved to “accept the governor’s projections as reasonable,” and for 2018 set the EORAC projection for state general fund revenues for fiscal year at $3.6309 billion, and for 2019 at $3.8231 billion. His motion passed 15-1, with the only “no” vote coming from Sen. Grant Burgoyne, D-Boise. Two committee members, Reps. Joe Palmer, R-Meridian, and Paulette Jordan, D-Plummer, missed the vote. That’s 5.3 percent growth in ’18, and a matching 5.3 percent in fiscal year 2019. Rep. Rick Youngblood, R-Nampa, the House chairman of the joint committee, said, “I just want to say thank you to all of you for participating and being here this year. … I know it was a tough year with changes. … I appreciate your leaving the policy decisions out of this, and going forward with a very solid number.”
