Eye On Boise

Another super-busy day at Idaho’s state Capitol…

It’s another super-busy day at Idaho’s state Capitol today, with the budget hearing on K-12 public schools – the single largest slice of the state general-fund budget, at  48.8 percent – starting at 8 a.m. Also starting at 8 a.m., the House State Affairs Committee will consider introducing a passel of controversial bills, including the return of the anti-Sharia law bill from Rep. Eric Redman, R-Athol; committee Chairman Tom Loertscher’s proposal about a constitutional convention; and two proposals from Rep. Priscilla Giddings, D-White Bird.

At 9 a.m., Rep. Dorothy Moon, R-Stanley, will propose legislation regarding CBD oil in the House Health & Welfare Committee; and Rep. Kelley Packer, R-McCammon, will propose legislation regarding sign language interpreters. At the same time, House Education Chair Julie VanOrden, R-Pingree, has a bill regarding sex education up for consideration in the House Education Committee.

I’ll be in the public school budget hearing this morning, but will catch up on what happens with the other items and post it all here today. There’s more, too…
