Green Recovery

Photobucket A new report from the Center for American Progress shows that a $100 billion green economic investment could create 2 million US jobs in two years. The report, called “Green Recovery,” features a map illustrating how distribution to 34 states would translate to net job creation. For example, the investment could create 42,689 new jobs in Washington alone, reducing unemployment by 22.9 percent. Through public investment and leveraging private capital via loan guarantees, funding would be used for retrofitting buildings to improve energy efficiency; expanding mass transit; constructing “smart” electrical grid transmission systems; wind power; solar power; and next-generation biofuels.
