Down To Earth

Photo of the day: Copenhagen

More than a hundred thousand demonstrators from all over the world take a united stand for climate action during the negotiations in Copenhagen. When a few masked protestors started throwing rocks at the Foreign Ministry, Danish police detained around a thousand of them. Unfortunately, a Danish law allows police to arrest and hold protesters for 12 hours without court orders in case authorities feel a demonstration could turn violent. And we thought protestors had it rough in America.
