Tuesday Videos - Jeff “Free” Luers on Democracy Now

Does 100 years in jail for arson sound just?  Not even close.  Though that's the initial fate that Jeff Luers was facing in 2000 when he and a partner were arrested for setting fire to 3 trucks on a Eugene, Oregon car lot in a protest against excessive consumption and global warming.  While "only" sentenced to 22 years (still a politcally-motivated excessive sentence), Jeff "Free" Luers recently spent the holidays a free man - this as a result of a 2007 decision by the Oregon Court fo Appeals to overturn his sentence allowing Luers to serve 9.5 years for his crimes.
Luers was released from prison on December 16, 2009.  About a week later, he was interviewed by Amy Goodman of Democracy Now.  Below is that interview.
