Down To Earth

Spokane premiere of “More Than Honey” tonight

"If bees were to disappear from the globe," Albert Einstein once predicted, "mankind would only have four years left to live."

Should we be afraid? Well, over the past 15 years, numerous colonies of bees have been decimated throughout the world, but the causes of this disaster remains unknown.

Tonight is the Spokane premiere of "More Than Honey" and some of these unkowns will be addressed. Speaker Pat Munts, WSU Master Gardener and Small Acreage Coordinator, will discuss the impact bees have in our region after the film.

Visit the booths before and after the film featuring Inland Northwest Land Trust, WSU Extension Master Gardeners, Inland Empire Beekeepers Association and WSU Extension Small Acreage Farms. Homemade jam, honey, and a honey recipe book will be on sale in the lobby to benefit the WSU Extension programs.

The event goes from 6-8 p.m. at the Magic Lantern, 25 W. Main Ave. The cost is $7 and you can email bnicholson@inlandnwlandtrust.org for more information or check out the film's Spokane site premier site HERE
