Happy places: Readers respond with a few more faves

We asked readers to tell us about their favorite RVing “happy places,” and for some people, choosing just one happy place proved too difficult.

Here are some other happy places from readers Seabury Blair Jr., and Howard Braham.

First, from Seabury:

“I really like the campground at Mt. Spokane State Park in the summer. It’s cool and usually very quiet, has flush toilets and hiking trails just across the road, and is inexpensive.” he wrote to tell us.

“Another favorite is the Spruce Tree Campground at the end of the road past Red Ives on the St. Joe River.”

And writes Howard:

“Hurricane, Utah, at Willow Wind RV Park — so many great day trips from this spot (and it has a great, real authentic Mexican restaurant and very cool antique shops): to the north there’s Zion National Park,  Bryce National Park (stay late for the Dark-Skies telescope demonstration) and the Cedar Breaks National Monument; southeast there’s the North Rim of the Grand Canyon; southwest head to sin-city Las Vegas (and Mesquite); and just south of Hurricane is St. George and head west to the red rock hiking trails.”

Howard also has high praise for Spokane RV Resort in Deer Park, which has a “golf course (and good restaurant), pool-hot tub club house and acres of open dog space to run.”
