We're not going to be together for the holidays this year, so our family decided to celebrate early by taking a trip to Deception Pass State Park. On that recent off-season Monday, we practically had the whole place to ourselves.

After enjoying an early dinner, we wandered down to the beach to catch a beautiful sunset. It was chilly, but we stoked the campfire and toasted marshmallows for dessert. Who says s'mores are strictly a summertime treat?
