Wasden On Short List To Replace Craig
Item: Wasden on Otter's short list: AG could replace Craig as Idaho senator/Betsy Russell, Spokesman-Review
More Info: When Idaho Gov. Butch Otter walked into Lawrence Wasden’s office and asked the state’s attorney general if he’d be interested in filling Larry Craig’s seat in the U.S. Senate, Wasden said “yes.” “That’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was a boy, believe it or not,” said Wasden, who’s made his mark prosecuting crime and corruption, including among members of his own party. Now Wasden, 49, is on Otter’s short list to replace Craig, along with Lt. Gov. Jim Risch.
DFO: Lawrence Wasden would be an ideal replacement for embattled U.S. Sen. Larry Craig. He's young enough to gain the important seniority that our state needs to keep its interests before Congress. And he's earned his reputation as an honest man who isn't afraid to buck party leaders.
Question: What would you think if Otter picked Wasden to replace Craig (if/when Craig stepped down)?
