Wild Card/Tuesday — 4.6.10

I see there's more hand-wringing going on re: the nastiness of online commenting. On my HBO Nation Twitter this morning, New West links to a Washington Post ombudsman column re: online comments here. Ombudsman David Alexander took the same approach that columnist Leonard Pitts did recently -- anonymity has made online commenting petty and nasty. I believe, however, the problem can be solved, if the online media is willing to closely monitor the comments thread. It ain't easy even then. I've waged a six-year battle to rein in my threads and still maintain a vital comment section. I'm as happy today with the comments as I've ever been. It can be done. But the media must be willing to pay for it. Now, for today's Wild Card ...
