Bishop Defends Pope, Chides Priest

Pope Benedict's age is not his weakness, but his strength. I find it inconceivable that a priest who rose through the ranks of the church at the elbow of leaders such as Pope John XXIII, Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II is somehow unqualified because of his age. Such discriminatory comments are disappointing, especially in light of the fact that Father Faucher calls himself an advocate responsible to ensure that every priest - even the chief priest of the Roman Catholic Church - receives "full, fair justice"/Bishop Michael Driscoll of Boise. More here. H/T: Sisyphus.

Question: Do you consider Father Faucher of Boise courageous or foolish in speaking out against the pope at a time when the Catholic Church is trying to recover from sex scandals?
