Seattle OKs Panhandling Law, But …

A divided Seattle City Council on Monday took action on one of the most controversial proposals to come before it in years, voting five to four to approve an ordinance that allows police to give tickets to aggressive beggars. But Mayor Mike McGinn says he'll veto the bill. Since it takes six votes to override his rejection, the panhandling ordinance appears to be going nowhere/Seattle P-I. More here.
