Ex-Vik Austin Left Mark On CSI Baseball

Normalcy returned to Skip Walker Field on Wednesday, albeit briefly. After a half-hour team meeting, baseballs fizzed through the air and popped into gloves. Soon the sound of ball-on-bat joined the party. For around an hour on a hot, cloud-free Wednesday, the College of Southern Idaho baseball team had fun. Just what Devon Austin would have wanted for his teammates. The 19-year-old freshman from Coeur d’Alene never played a game for the Golden Eagles before he and friend Ryan Reinhardt were killed in a car accident west of Filer in the early hours of Sunday morning.
