JohnA lists these 4 reasons why upgrade to McEuen Field makes sense now:

• 1. The city needs to make improvements to Front Avenue that are long overdue. That makes it a good time to look at the whole neighborhood.
• 2. Interest rates haven’t been this low forever. The project can be financed now so we can use it now, and not wait for the money to accrue.
• 3. The city has quite a bit of funding already in place, including impact fees for Front Street and the park plus water and sewer fees for those improvements on Front.
• 4. The city has parking reserve fees for those parking more than two hours, dating back to 1991. A parking facility makes sense at this time, as indicated by the plans at McEuen.
