Only 2 NI Reps Against College Guns

Update: The House has voted 41-28 in favor of HB 222, the bill to prevent Idaho's colleges and universities from regulating or banning guns on campus other than in undergraduate residence halls. The measure now moves to the Senate.

Rep. Cherie Buckner-Webb, D-Boise, said she was glad to hear that it's already illegal to drink and carry a gun, but she said, “Unfortunately drinking leads to stinking thinking,” and there's drinking on college campuses She urged against HB 222, the guns-on-campus bill. Rep. JoAn Wood, R-Rigby, said she favors the bill and believes students should be able to defend themselves against attacks. “It would certainly calm my fears if I were the mother of a daughter on a college campus,” she said. Rep. Christy Perry, R-Nampa, said, “This bill is not about the NCAA, it's not about whether one shooter can stop another shooter. … In my mind, this bill is about rights”/Betsy Russell, Eye On Boise. • Yes: Reps. Anderson, Barbieri, Hart, Hartgen, Harwood, Henderson, McMillan, Nonini, & Sims.
  • No: Reps. Chadderdon & Eskridge
  • How they all voted

Question: Can we decree now that the 41 legislators who supported this bill have lost their minds?
