On facebook Kerri Rankin Thoreson writes, "I've been honored to work with local veterans through the years and those whom I consider heroes rarely see themselves as such. Two incredible men I met a few years back are the late Vernon Baker and Thomas Norris. Each received the highest honor given in the military-- the US Congressional Medal of Honor. Today is the 148th anniversary of the first CMH being presented. Thank you ALL veterans and those who serve today."
