LCSC Collect Diapers For Needy

Lewis-Clark State College Coeur d’Alene social work students delivered a diaper dandy. The 2nd Annual Student Organization of Social Work Diaper Drive collected 2,500 diapers from local residents and delivered them to St. Vincent de Paul in Coeur d’Alene and the Post Falls Food Bank Wednesday. “Diapers are a necessity,” said LCSC senior Sara Heise. “Food banks will give out between two and five diapers to a family, but that might last just one day. I have to thank the community for stepping up.” Jeff Conroy, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul in Coeur d’Alene, praised the student’s efforts to collect the diapers. “It’s a huge expense to the families and anytime the community is able to help them by providing diapers, it’s a huge benefit,” Conroy said. ‘It’s nice to see college students taking the time to give back to the community”/Marc Stewart, Lewis Clark State College.
